Background
Rachel McBride Lindsey is a historian of religion in America who has teaching and research interests in visual and material culture, religion in popular culture, race, and gender. She received her Ph.D. from Princeton University in 2012 where she wrote a dissertation that explores the entangled histories of vernacular photography and American religion in the nineteenth century.
