Fall Undergraduate Religion Conference
Join us December 4th at 12:30 pm for an afternoon of selected presentations of undergraduate research project.  Topics varying from African ritual, Japanese religion, and the Dead Sea Scrolls will be presented.  All are welcome to attend.  The event will be held in Strozier Library in the Graduate conference room, 005B.  >> Schedule

Faculty Awards
The Religion Department congratulates Jimmy Yu, Associate Professor in Chinese Buddhism, for receiving the Center for Chinese Studies Grant from the National Central Library of Taiwan for the summer of 2016. The Department also congratulates Michael McVicar, Assistant Professor of American Religious History, for receiving the 2016 Risley Family Fellowship by the College of Arts and Sciences at FSU.


Student Awards
The Religion Department congratulates Carson Bay and David Skelton, two Ph.D candidates, for receiving the Fulbright Fellowship to Germany and Rebecca Peters and Ian Reed for the AIIS fellowships to study in India next academic year. The Department also congratulates our undergrad religion major, Micah Friedman, for receiving the 2016 Humanity in Action Fellowship summer program to study in Berlin, Germany. >>Read more on "Florida State 24/7"


New faculty
Dr. Jamil W. Drake (Ph.D. from Emory) will be joining the Religion Department in the fall! Dr. Drake specializes in African American religious experience and literature.


Post-Doctoral Fellowships
The Religion Department welcomes two new incoming postdocs! David Kirkpatrick will be the T. Gannon Postdoctoral Associate in Religion and Douglas Gildow will be the new Sheng Yen Postdoctoral Associate in Chinese Buddhist Studies. More information will be posted in August.
