FSU Department of Religion

The Department of Religion will hold its 20th Annual Graduate Student Symposium February 17-18, 2023, in Tallahassee, Florida. The symposium will center on the theme “Sensational Religion.” For more details, see the digital schedule.

The department honors Professor Emeritus Sumner B. Twiss on the occasion of his retirement from FSU on September 9th from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Broad Auditorium, Claude Pepper Center, Florida State University.

Speakers include Jung Lee (Northeastern University), Terry Coonan (Florida State University), John Kelsay (Florida State University), and former Ph.D. students. Reception to follow.

The Department of Religion is hosting the 2022 AAR/SBL Southeastern Regional Annual Conference. It will be held virtually on March 11-13. The Department of Religion is hosting the 2020-21 Southeastern Regional SBL/AAR conference (SECSOR).  It will be held virtually on March 12-14 and can be accessed here.
