The Florida State University Department of Religion is pleased to announce its 21st Annual Graduate Student Symposium to be held February 9-10, 2024, in Tallahassee, Florida.

This year’s symposium will center on the theme “Crisis and Calamity.” An archived version of the original Call for Papers is available.

Program

February 9

Dr. David Frankfurter will present his keynote lecture: "Conspiracy, Atrocity, & 'Ritual.'" A flyer for the lecture is available here. A catered reception will follow. 

February 10

Roundtable Discussion: "Teaching in Contentious Classrooms." Moderated by Dr. Aline Kalbian

Location

The entirety of the conference will take place in the Student Services Building (Google Maps).

Restrooms

The Student Services Building has restrooms for women and for men on the second floor (where our conference will be held). Two all-gender-restrooms can be found on the first floor of the building.
