Pranav Prakash

Pranav Prakash is an assistant professor of religion at Florida State University. Additionally, he serves as a senior fellow of the Andrew W. Mellon Society of Fellows in Critical Bibliography at the Rare Book School, University of Virginia; a trustee of the American Printing History Association in New York; and the translation editor of the Journal of Hindu Studies (Oxford University Press and the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies). Prior to joining FSU, he was a junior research fellow and the director of studies for Asian and Middle Eastern Studies at Christ Church, University of Oxford, U.K. He specializes in the comparative study of religions, literatures and book arts in Persian and South Asian societies. His research and artwork grapple with the cultural history and ethos of underprivileged communities in India, Iran and Central Asia.
